Volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Every warm meal served, every conversation had, every night spent on the Night Bus and every safe space provided is made possible by the dedication and compassion of our volunteer team.

Chances House
Drop-in hub volunteer opportunities
» Client Care Crew Member
Provide face to face support to people experiencing homelessness with care, connection, and practical help at Chances House. Client Care Crew Members also help with cleaning, monitoring & other essential duties to keep our doors open.
» Food & Hospitality Champion
Help to prepare & serve breakfast with care while creating a welcoming space for our community.
» Support Crew Member
Sort & store donated goods and assist with other essential background functions to support people doing it tough at Chances House.

Chances Night Bus
AM, PM, Ad hoc & Overnight opportunities:
» Morning Support Crew
Assist with morning duties to help offboard guests and prepare the bus for its next service.
» Evening Support Crew
Assist with evening duties to help onboard guests and prepare them for a safe night’s sleep.
» Overnight Caretaker
Assist with overnight monitoring and responding to any exit requests or emergencies from the comfort of your own cabin. (Sleeping is welcomed during this shift, and there is room for 2 if you would like to volunteer with a friend!)
» Bus Driver
Drive the bus to or from the depot (5-minute drive) to enable it to operate. MR License required.
» Courtesy Driver
Drive the bus driver back to their vehicle. Morning or evening shifts available. 5-minute drive between depot and bus location. Fully comprehensive insurance required.
» Bus Maintenance Volunteer
Help us keep the bus in tip-top condition by being a maintenance volunteer. Mechanical or handyman style experience required (or both!).
